Language coursesHere you can find information about learning Dutch while studying at the VU University.

Dutch as a second language

Suppose you want to follow a course in Dutch. You are not a prospective student, but you are already following a degree programme at VU University Amsterdam. The Dutch as a Second Language Department offers various courses in Dutch. In principle, all courses are open to qualified candidates. There are however rules of priority: (prospective) VU students and WIN-ers have first priority: the NT2 Department and, amongst others, the Municipality of Amsterdam have agreed that qualified persons who speak another language and who are required to learn Dutch under the Newcomers Integration Act (Wet Inburgering Nieuwkomers a.k.a. WIN) can follow the naturalisation course at VU University Amsterdam. Members of the public and qualified clients from job centres and other organisations may also register for the courses; they are, however, due to the system of prioritisation, only sure of a place just before the start of the course.

Taalcentrum
