Cultural Centre Griffioen

Griffioen is VU University Amsterdam's cultural centre. The professionally equipped Griffioen stage presents performances and concerts by established names and rising talent, interspersed with its own theatrical and musical productions. Prices are in accordance with the students budget. This year’s programme you’ll find in the magazine 'Griffioen programma'.
 
Movies 
Filmhuis Griffioen presents recent hits, movie classics and little-known gems on Tuesday, Thursday & Friday. Every evening two different films. Tickets are a mere 6,- (students 4,50).
 
Would you like to take a course? 
The Griffioen also has a range of over sixty courses to choose from. You can find everything you want to know about  the courses and workshops in the magazine 'Griffioen cursussen'. It's in Dutch, but you can always ask more information at our office.
Visual arts, dance, music or drama: it's all on offer at the Griffioen. You also have the opportunity to participate in drama or music productions, play in the VU orchestra or sing along in the VU choir.

Student rates range from 10,- for a short workshop to 100,- for a course. Last but not least, the centre houses a range of work spaces and studios to play the piano, make pop music, develop photographs and more.

Information on all the activities at the Griffioen can be found in our monthly what's on list, which is available free at Uilenstede and on the VU campus. You can also visit our website. Of course, you are also welcome to pay us a visit. Our office is open from 12 noon to 10 p.m.
