The regular opening times of VU University Amsterdam buildings are:
Main building and Metropolitan
Monday to Friday: 07:00 to 23:00
Saturday: 08:00 to 16:00
The seating area of the restaurant may be used for study purposes during regular opening hours.
OZW Building
Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 23:00
Friday and school holidays: 07:00 to 21:00.
Weekends: closed
Mathematics and Science (W&N) Building and Faculty of Medicine (MF)
Monday to Friday: 07:00 to 22:00
Weekends: closed.
Transitorium
Monday to Friday: 07:00 to 19:00
Weekends: closed.
BelleVUe
Monday to Friday: 07:00 to 22:00
Weekends: closed.
De TenT
Open on request
‘t Olifantje crèche
Monday to Friday: 07:00 to 18:00
Weekends: closed.
VU-Uilenstede
Atria: Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 22:00
Bavinckhouse II: Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 22:00
Security staff can open a building on Saturday on request. The costs of any additional staff (e.g. a receptionist) will be charged to the user.

The standard calendar (2010/2011 – 2014/2015) used by most faculties can be downloaded here. The Faculty of Social Sciences follows a different calendar.
Holiday closures
All university buildings are closed on (public) holidays and during vacation periods. The dates on which VU University Amsterdam will be closed during 2010 are shown below.
- Good Friday: 2 April
- Easter Monday: 5 April
- Queen's Day: Friday 30 April
- Liberation Day: Wednesday 5 May
- Ascension Day: Thursday 13 May and Friday 14 May
- Whit Monday: 23 May
- NB Christmas Day falls on a Saturday this year. The university will be closed from the afternoon of Friday 24th December until Monday 3 January 2011
