New online open access journal: European Journal of Life Writing

The European Section of the International Auto/Biography Association (IABA Europe) launches the European Journal of Life Writing. The journal offers international and interdisciplinary scholarly views on the practice and theories of life writing. It is facilitated by VU University Library.

The journal is interdisciplinary in its outlook and welcomes articles on life writing from a wide range of disciplinary fields: literary and cultural studies, history and sociology, anthropology and ethnology, philosophy and psychology, film and media studies. It cherishes all kinds of theoretical and methodological approaches to auto/biography and enhances their interaction. It also accommodates studies that relate to diverse aspects of ‘Europeanness’, ranging from the former metropolitan core to its putative margins – and beyond.

The European Journal of Life Writing is an open access journal with no article-processing charge. It provides immediate open access to its papers on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Readers can register via the journals website in order to receive publication notifications and Calls for Papers. Working with volumes rather than issues, the journal will be launched at 5 December 2012.
