VU University Amsterdam improves in Times Higher Education Ranking

This year the Netherlands again has 12 institutions, including VU University Amsterdam, in the international top 200 of the Times Higher Education Ranking 2012. VU University Amsterdam was rated a 140th position internationally. This is an improvement of 19 spots.

This year the Netherlands again has 12 institutions, including VU University Amsterdam, in the international top 200 of the Times Higher Education Ranking 2012. VU University Amsterdam was rated a 140th position internationally. This is an improvement of 19 spots.

Every single Dutch university improved its position. The higher education system of the Netherlands has the most representatives in the top 200 of any country other than the UK and US. Leiden University takes the number one spot for the Netherlands rated a 64th spot. This means it overtook the number one spot of Utrecht University.

California Institute of Technology holds on to the number one spot. There are major gains across Asia-Pacific countries. The US Universities still dominate the ranking but lose ground with  51 institutions falling down.UK universities also perform less than last year.
