Piek Vossen receives Spinoza Prize
€ 2.5 million for research into computers that understand language
VU University Professor Piek Vossen from the Faculty of Arts has received this year's Spinoza Prize of the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO). The Spinoza Prize worth € 2.5 million is the highest Dutch award in science and is awarded to researchers who rank among the absolute top of science. Piek Vossen is Professor of Computational Lexicology at the Faculty of Arts at VU University and investigates how computers can understand language.
