International degree holder

Admission procedure

All international degree holders apply via Studielink and the VU Admissions Office (including Dutch nationals with a Diploma International Baccalaureat or Diploma European Baccalaureat).

Once all entry-/visa- and residence requirements are met you can start your admission. 

Procedure: send an email to the admissions office and enroll via Studielink:

1) Enroll in the national administration system for higher education in the Netherlands: www.vu.studielink.nl

2) Send an email to admission@vu.nl with all required documents and state the following:

• Full name, adress and phone number
• Nationality and residence permit
• Date and place of birth
• Previous education (diplomas and academic records)
• Your study of choice
• Level of knowledge of Dutch and English language (diplomas)

• After you have submitted your Studielink print together with certified copies of all the required documents, the Admission Office will evaluate your file and provide you with information about the specific entrance requirements, including advice on how to prepare for possible entrance examinations.

Lottery studies
Applicants depending on a visa, must apply before April 1st  because the visa procedure may take up to 3 months. These applicants cannot apply for studies with a so called numerus fixus (Medicine, Dentistry, Psychology, Administration and Organization, Biomedical Science or Criminology). 

Applicants who do not depend on a visa and who intend to study Medicine, Dentistry, Psychology Administration and Organization, Criminology or Biomedical Science, must apply before April 15th at our Admission Office (decentralized selection Medicine: before January 15th).
