Introduction programme for new students (Spring 2014)
On Friday, January 31 and Saturday, February 1, 2014, VU University Amsterdam will be welcoming new exchange students for the Spring semester. The International Office will organize an Introduction to let you settle down in Amsterdam and introduce you to studying at our university.
More information about our Arrival Day and Orientation Day
VU University Amsterdam offers exchange programmes for students from partner universities for one semester (5 months) or two semesters (10 months). The first step is to contact the International Office of your home university/faculty as your home university formally has to nominate you for the exchange programme.
Please note that we expect all exchange students to have an excellent command (both written and verbal) of the English language.
Upon receiving your nomination, we will send you instructions on how to finalize your online application.
Your nomination must be received by our International Office:
- before April 1st (for a stay during autumn/winter semester, meaning between 1 September and 31 January; or a whole academic year, meaning between 1 September and July/August), or
- before October 1st (for a stay during spring semester, meaning between 1 February and July/August)
After the nomination, you will have to apply online as soon as possible but at the latest:
- before April 15th (for a stay during autumn/winter semester, meaning between 1 September and 31 January; or a whole academic year, meaning between 1 September and July/August) or
- before October 15th (for a stay during spring semester, meaning between 1 February and July/August)
Note that incomplete applications will not be taken into consideration.
