Admission procedure for International Master's
The admission procedure to a Master's programme at VU University Amsterdam is being conducted by the relevant faculty. Therefore, all inquiries should be made at the faculty.
In addition to the minimum requirements, each programme has its own requirements.

Language requirements
Good comprehension skills in English are absolutely necessary for all English taught programmes The minimum English language proficiency requirements for admission to a Master’s programme at VU University Amsterdam are:
IELTS 6.5
TOEFL paper-based test: 580
TOEFL computer-based test: 237
TOEFL Internet-based test: 92-93
Some Master’s programmes require a higher test score. Applicants from mainland China are required to submit an Academic IELTS or TOEFL iBT test scores due to visa requirements (an average IELTS result of 6.5 and sufficient on all separate modules).
Most programmes at VU University Amsterdam also accept the following University of Cambridge Certificates:
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) score: A, B or C;
Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) score: A, B or C

The language proficiency requirement does not apply if you have completed your education in Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand or Australia. For Master's programmes taught in languages other than English, additional language requirements may apply.
