Approximate costs of living

It is very difficult to estimate accurately how much your costs of living will be in Amsterdam, since everyone's circumstances differ. However, it is important to be aware that these may be much higher than you are used to. By way of indication:

  • Costs of living as estimated by Nuffic

    €800-€1100 per month (not including tuition fees).

  • Renting a room in Amsterdam

    300-€650 per month.

  • Public transport:

    There are no specific discounts for international students. However, some companies offer special tickets for frequent travellers, etc.
