Career prospects

With a Master’s in Biology, you will be well prepared to embark on a career in research, either in the business sector or at universities or other research institutes, inside or outside the Netherlands. The Policy & Management specialization equips graduates with the skills to work either for others (for example as a policy officer) or as an independent consultant. The Communication & Education specialization provides graduates with the skills required to work in public relations, scientific journalism, biological design or teaching at the pre-university or higher vocational education level.

Postgraduate degree programmes
The Master’s degree Biology ultimately offers access to a number of PhD degree programmes. The PhD programme always consists of a research project, leading to a PhD thesis/dissertation, and of several compulsory or elective course modules.
