Trading risks
An international re-insurer is worried about its exposure to the risk of river flooding in the wake of potential climatic change. How can it spread this risk across financial markets using new products, and at what price?
Risk management: simplicity in complexity
If you are interested in quantitative financial and economic research, then the Quantitative Finance honours track at VU University Amsterdam is the programme for you.
The Quantitative Finance honours track is a prestigious programme within the Finance Master’s. You will tackle issues in the field of risk management and the development of complex financial products. To build a successful career in this area, you need a solid basis of mathematical insight in order to understand risks in existing products and to design new, structured products to cater to a client’s risk preferences. Without a thorough knowledge of the issues at hand, the consequences can be disastrous, as we have seen repeatedly in the past.
