Studying abroad

Full-time students of the Master's programme Religion and Theology (research) must be resident in the Netherlands in periods 1-3 and 6 in order to take the required courses scheduled in these periods. With the permission of the coordinator of the subprogramme and the formal, written approval of the Examination Committee (which must both be obtained in advance), full-time students may in periods 1 and 2 take an elective at another faculty of VU University or at another university in the Netherlands, and in periods 4 and 5, at a university abroad.

Part-time students may choose to do an elective abroad in periods 4 and 5 of the first year of their study and in periods 1 and 2 of the second, again only with the permission of the coordinator of the subprogramme and the formal, written approval of the Examination Committee. Both must be obtained in advance.
