VU Fellowship Programme - VUFP

Note - deadline for 2012-2013 has passed!

The VU Fellowship Programme (VUFP) is a highly selective scholarship for strongly motivated students with excellent study results.

Who can apply?

• International students enrolling in preselected master’s degree programmes at VU University starting September 2012, as listed here.
• International students enrolling in the bachelor’s degree programme International Business Administration, starting September 2012.

Duration and number of scholarships
Selected students will receive a scholarship for the duration of the degree programme. However, the scholarship will only be renewed if the student is making satisfactory progress towards the degree.

Amount of scholarship
There are two amounts for the VUFP scholarship:

• €5000 for EU-students
• €15000 for non-EU-students

Please note - these amounts will almost certainly not be enough to cover all the costs of studying and living in the Netherlands!

Eligibility criteria
The applicant must meet the eligibility criteria in order to be considered for this scholarship:

• Not have Dutch nationality;
• Enrolling in an international master’s programme, as preselected by the faculty, or IBA;
• Hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree (for a Master’s programme) or secondary school diploma (for IBA);
• Be able to comply with the conditions necessary to obtain a Dutch visa.

Failure to meet one or more of these criteria means automatically that the student is not eligible for a VUFP scholarship.
 
Please note - you do not have to have to have been admitted to a programme to start your VUFP application. Selection will only take place after admission.  

Application procedure
Deadline for application was 1 March 2012.

After having applied via Studielink you can apply for the VUFP scholarship at vufp.dsz@vu.nl:
 
Students who are not yet studying at VU University must send in the following documents:

1. Proof that you belong to the top 10% of your class (issued by your university) or university statement concerning your GPA (Grade Point Average)
2. Motivation letter (Why do you think you deserve the VUFP scholarship?)
3. Financial Plan listing your budget (other scholarships etcetera).

Students who are already studying at VU University must send in the following documents:

1. Transcript VU University.
2. Motivation letter (Why do you think you deserve the VUFP scholarship?)
3. Financial Plan listing your budget (other scholarships etcetera).

Please note - we only take complete applications in consideration! 

Results VU Fellowship Pogramme 2012/2013

The VUFP committee has announced all students awarded the VUFP scholarship for the academic year 2012/2013.

• All selected students are listed (by student number) in this Excel form.
• If your student number is not listed in this form, then unfortunately you have not been selected for the VU Fellowship Programme. In that case you are on a waiting list or your application has been rejected. In both cases you will receive an email before Friday 11 May.
• All students who are awarded the VU Fellowship Programme will receive an official letter by email before May 25.

There will be no further correspondence regarding the decision. No rights can be derived from the information published in the Excel form.
