The programme in a nutshell


The Master’s programme in Artificial Intelligence lasts two years and consists of 120 ECTS credits. Whichever specialization you choose, you complete your programme by writing a thesis.
You can choose between four specializations:

  • Cognitive Science
  • Human Ambience
  • Intelligent Systems Design
  • Webscience

The Master’s programme in Artificial Intelligence at a glance:

  • You work in study groups and attend supporting lectures 
  • You study research methods and techniques 
  • You conduct your own research 
  • You write a Master’s thesis 
  • Compulsory and elective subjects

How your programme is structured depends upon which specialization you choose. Each consists of both compulsory and elective subjects. A typical example of a compulsory component is Knowledge Engineering, which covers organizational aspects of knowledge management and teaches you how knowledge can be described using modern information modelling techniques. Other courses include Data Mining Techniques, Intelligent Web Applications, Evolutionary Computing or Model-based Intelligent Environments.
