Why study at VU University Amsterdam

A one-year Master’s programme

Information Sciences at VU University Amsterdam can be completed in one year.

Semantic web and business modelling
Information Sciences at VU University Amsterdam has a solid reputation. We are well-known in the areas of semantic web and business modelling for networked value constellations. Besides, we run The Network Institute, a research facility where the Faculties of Computer Science, Economics & Business Administration, and Social Sciences work together (see www.thenetworkinstitute.eu). VU University Amsterdam offers you a high-quality working environment with modern study facilities, IT resources and library services.

Information Sciences develops e3value methodology
e3value methodology helps you to develop innovative networked services. These days, an ever increasing range of innovative services are being offered by networks of companies.

For instance, while you can buy ringtones via Web shops you still need the assistance of a mobile operator to install them on your mobile phone. Then there is the person who composed the ringtone, who also wants their cut.

E3value was developed by the “business informatics” research group, in close collaboration with international companies and consultancies. The e3value methodology is employed in many sectors of industry including entertainment, news, internet service provision, banking, trade documents and energy generation.
