SUMMARY OF WORK EXPERIENCE
Prosper Maguchu is project manager under the CIS programme Governance for Society/ Security and the Rule of Law. Since joining CIS, Dr Maguchu, is leading the Feasibility study team to establish three Regional Training Centres in the framework of the Law Democracy and Media project on Strengthening law, democratisation and media in Ethiopia to support policy reform, government performance, freedom of expression, and people’s participation. He is also working on the Justice for All through University and Professional Sustainable Service Delivery, Teaching and Training (JUST) project in Rwanda which seeks to improve the quality of legal education in the region.
Dr Maguchu is an experienced researcher with a demonstrated history of working in the civil society and higher education sector. This has earned him experience in strategic litigation, lobby and advocacy as well as capacity building in his areas of expertise. Dr Maguchu trained as a lawyer in Zimbabwe. He holds a master’s degree in Transnational Criminal Justice and a doctorate on Transitional Justice, Corruption and Human Rights from South Africa and Germany.
