As described in the Vision for Education, the campus plays an important role in realising our teaching and learning objectives. Students are inspired by engaging each other and academic staff in their discussions. Characteristic are our interdisciplinary, international, and intercultural meetings, both formal and informal. The VU University campus should make this happen.

Due to the growth of student numbers in the past years, our current accommodation has reached its limits. We have initiated several projects to improve the quality of accommodation, in the short term as well as in the long term. The number of work stations will be extended considerably, opening hours were extended, and extra lifts are being built. The visibility of student organisations and their mutual contacts were enlarged by accommodating them in the so-called StudentenD0K. For Human Health & Life Sciences new accommodation is under construction in the O|2 Building and in the multifunctional NU.VU Building. In addition, a number of new facilities, such as a supermarket, a new coffee and lunch accommodation, and a roof terrace, were realised.
