Information and Communications Technology

At VU University we look upon Information and Communications Technology (ICT) as an essential component of modern university education. ICT is a necessary aid for increasing the quality of teaching and learning and, at the same time, making the educational process more efficient. Moreover, we aspire to meeting the high expectation students and staff members have of the ICT infrastructure, online accessibility, and service at our university. Projects that are executed by the Information Technology Service, often in cooperation with other Services, focus on strengthening education, improving educational support, and streamlining basic Services. ICT is an important aid in intensifying education because it enables activating working methods, also for larger groups. In the meantime, VU-wide use is made of slide casts, web lectures, and knowledge clips, and the infrastructure has been adapted accordingly. The educational process is supported more adequately by, for instance, digital testing and digital assessment.
