The VU Bibliotheek [university library] offers resources for study and research by providing a collection of scientific information to meet the demand of the questions posed. The library staff help academic staff and students to find, select, and assess material. A particular point of interest is treating the material in a scientifically incorruptible manner. Approximately 90% of the collections accessible by VU Bibliotheek are available digitally and, therefore, available to members of staff and students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Opening hours of study areas on Saturdays and Sundays have been extended, especially prior to examination weeks. At VU University we have the largest examination hall in the Netherlands. During the first six months after it came into use, more than 20,000 exams were administered. As a result, operational management has become more efficient and students receive their marks sooner.
