Annually, an assessment interview is conducted with all lecturers. During discussions on educational assessments, Programme Committees devote systematic attention to the teaching qualities of the lecturers. The educational assessments are either sent to the lecturers in question or they are discussed with them in person, or both. In addition, exchange of information takes place along the hierarchal lines. This applies both to lecturers whose teaching performance was repeatedly assessed ‘excellent’ as to those whose teaching performance was repeatedly assessed ‘insufficient’. If necessary, agreements with a view to improvement are made. Once a year, the superior and the staff member engage in an annual assessment interview. During this interview the staff member and the superior look back jointly at the work performed and the results achieved. Teaching performance and the educational assessments play an important role in these assessments.
