Alumni School of Humanities

After your graduation at the School of Humanities you are an alumnus of VU Amsterdam. And together with over 150,000 other former students, part of a diverse and global alumni network. Throughout your life, you will keep a special place within our VU Amsterdam community.

There are many ways to stay involved with VU Amsterdam and your school as an alumnus. For example, feel most welcome to attend school alumni meetings and other interesting events at VU Amsterdam. You may also call upon us for individual career advice and a wide range of courses and training programmes to keep on learning.

Stay informed through our bi-monthly alumni newsletter on developments at VU Amsterdam and feel inspired by stories of alumni and scientists. In this newsletter you will also always find specially selected news about the School of Humanities.

With our magazine 'idea', we give the stories of today's humanities scholars a well-deserved (digital) platform. This magazine is published once every six months and is exclusive to alumni of the School of Humanities.

What can you bring to VU Amsterdam as an alumnus?

Share your knowledge and inspire current and future students
All of our alumni together represent an enormous wealth of knowledge and experience. Which makes this alumni network very valuable for students and (young) alumni who are at the beginning of their careers. And you as an alumnus can make a contribution in various ways.

The programs of the School of Humanities may well use your help with (educational) activities. For example by giving a guest lecture, workshop, or (video) interview. We also warmly invite you to attend our annual Career Night, where students get inspired by their predecessors. Please contact Marie Kross, programme manager for Career and Alumni, to discuss the possibilities. In your message, please specify which programme you have attended.
