HR Advice

The HR Advice department ensures professional personnel and organizational advice. HR Advice consists of HR Advisors, the Participation Service Point and absence advisors.

HR Advisors

The HR advisors are embedded with the units. They are strategic discussion partners for the management. Among other things, they offer support and advice with:

  • recruitment and selection
  • annual consultations
  • employee career development
  • remuneration issues
  • employment terms and conditions
  • staff policies
  • staff and organisational issues in the broad sense

Do you have a question for the HR Advisors? In the Overview of HR Advisors you can see who is responsible for your faculty or division.

Participation Service Point

Diversity and inclusion is important to VU Amsterdam. This also involves working with an occupational disability. Creating jobs for this group is a joint responsibility of all divisions and faculties. The Participation Service Point offers advice and support for this:

  • Participation analysis and advice: creating, finding and adjusting positions for employees with occupational disabilities. They perform a workplace analysis and advise vacancy holders
  • Recruitment & selection: with assistance from fixed network partners, making matches with candidates from the target audience
  • Support: organizing external job coaching for the employee and organizing support for managers
  • Administration, such as support for subsidy schemes
  • Knowledge sharing and exchange within the organization

The Participation Service Point can be contacted via participatie.hrm@vu.nl.

Absence advisors

The absence advisors at VU Amsterdam are involved in the processes around complex and long-term illness leave, laws and regulations on absence and social security. They proactively advise and support managers, HR advisors and employees. They provide answers for managers, employees and HR advisors in cases of long-term absence. They can be contacted via verzuimdesk@vu.nl.
