Student & Educational Affairs

The Student & Academic Affairs (SOZ) department contributes to the quality of education, research and the impact of VU Amsterdam through policy and services.

We focus on the development and organisation of education, student development and success, and international cooperation and exchange, among other things.

We work closely with faculties, other departments and various internal and external partners. SOZ consists of 11 departments and has approximately 250 employees.

SOZ's mission is to strengthen the quality of education and student success at VU Amsterdam through innovative policy development and excellent services. We focus on the organisation and innovation of education, student development, international cooperation, sports, culture and well-being. In this way, we contribute to the development and reputation of VU Amsterdam in collaboration with internal and external partners.
