Literature Management: Referencing software

Save yourself a great deal of time and effort when writing your thesis by using referencing software. With a single click, you can ensure that citations and references are formatted following the guidelines. Save literature references and collected PDFs in a personally created database.

What can you do with Referencing software?

  • Import references from literature databases such as LibSearch or PubMed
  • Organize and manage your references
  • Link full text documents to your imported references
  • Automatically insert well-formatted citations into your manuscript in Word
  • Automatically reformat the citation style in one click

Installing the software

The University Library supports: EndNote, Mendeley & Zotero

Mendeley and Zotero can be downloaded and installed individually.

Employees with a managed (green and orange) workstation can contact the UCIT Service Desk to get EndNote assigned to the workstation.

Students and employees with an unmanaged (red) workstation or a private device can download EndNote at: download.vu.nl. No VU Wi-Fi connection is needed for this.

VUmc employees can request EndNote at the ICT Servicedesk VUmc. The software will then be placed in the user profile under VIEW, the secure workplace system of the VUmc. VUmc staff cannot place software on their computer themselves. They can also use EndNote under VIEW at home.
