Vision
Complex societal health problems within and outside the Netherlands require innovative, multidisciplinary and sustainable solutions. Within the department of Health Sciences, staff members from different fields of expertise actively engage with societal partners, (future) patients and citizens in their research. We aim to provide solutions to improve public health and wellbeing, and to reduce inequalities in health and wellbeing in specific groups. We collaborate intensively with our partners inside and outside the VU to create direct societal impact by influencing public health policy making.
We offer BSc and MSc programs in Health Sciences at the VU. Additionally, our staff is intensively involved in related educational programs within and outside the VU. By incorporating our knowledge from research and practice in our educational programmes, we teach students how to use science to optimize the health and wellbeing of current and future generations.
