The Marketing and Events team plays a crucial role in marketing the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and supports student recruitment. The team gives substance to the positioning and brand values of the VU and thus the reputation of our university among external target groups, to make them enthusiastic about the university and its activities and to encourage them to become part of it.
Team Marketing provides the organization with information to make data-driven decisions. The team researches and develops online and offline strategies, systems, instruments, and methodologies for marketing the VU and recruiting students, and is responsible for related web care.
Team Events organizes large, strategic events or conferences at and on behalf of the entire VU to substantiate the university's reputation. They orchestrate coherent scenarios for these large, strategic events from which all parties are managed, including all internal (and external) suppliers.
Events that are not classified as strategic for the entire VU are carried out by the faculties or services themselves in collaboration with the Facility Campus Organization (FCO), Eurest (Catering) and the Audio-Visual Center (AVC), etc.
However, the colleagues from Team Events can advise on matters such as decoration, design, signage and catering.
