MF building

The MF building houses the medical, behavioural, exercise and health sciences of VU Amsterdam and the Amsterdam UMC.

VISITING ADDRESS
Van der Boechorststraat 7
1081 BT Amsterdam

Reception: +31 (0)6 21108251

The MF building has varied study areas and meeting rooms in the restaurant and Salutem meeting centre. Bringing together all training and research in the field of "Brain, Body and Behaviour" promotes cooperation between parties within the VU-wide theme Human Health & Life Sciences.

Human Performance Lab

The Human Performance Lab in the MF building is a unique research facility with a climate chamber where human performance will be conducted under extreme conditions (low oxygen levels, low and high temperatures). There are also chambers for anthropometric measurements (study of the dimensions and proportions of the human body) and the measurement of muscle strength. This lab is optimally equipped for research into the performance capacity of athletes and non-athletes, young people and the elderly, and people without and with disabilities. One of the research projects concerned the preparation of top athletes for the heat during the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
