On Thursday afternoon, 12 June 2025, the Summit for Future Generations took place at VU Amsterdam. Leading international speakers addressed topics related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in three different sessions.
VU Amsterdam recently became coordinator of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network Netherlands (UNSDSN), giving it a prominent role as a connector and booster of sustainable development within the Netherlands.
On 12 June, the Dutch chapter of the UNSDSN was officially launched, bringing its goals and possible solutions to the attention of a wide audience - inside and outside the VU.
In the Summit for Future Generations, speakers such as Jeffrey Sachs, Aniek Moonen, Jan Rotmans, Bernice Notenboom, Marc Dullaert and many other experts shared their insights on various topics: climate transition, the future of young people, and international cooperation for peace and security.
