VU ART SCIENCE gallery

The VU ART SCIENCE gallery is open Tuesday to Friday, from 12 to 6 PM. The gallery host is happy to tell you more about the exhibition and the artworks.

The gallery focuses on the interaction between art and science. Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam initiated the gallery, as it encourages the exchange of multidisciplinary knowledge. The urgency and complexity of today’s issues demand radical concepts which allow us to leave conventional paths behind and explore new directions. More info on artsciencegallery.nl.

Boelelaan 1111
Next to the VU ART SCIENCE gallery, opened in 2021, the NU Building on Boelelaan 1111 hosts VU Griffioen (theatre & courses), Rialto VU (cinema) and cultural café Bar Boele. At the heart of the inspiring university campus VU students and employees as well as visitors and Zuidas residents can meet and enjoy film, theatre, art and science.

Exhibition: Realms of Reality

In the exhibition Realms of Reality, artists, researchers and visitors explore how different belief systems – ancient, conflicting or emerging – shape our reality. With a transdisciplinary approach, Realms of Reality is seeking the possibility to give room to the variety of beliefs rooted in the concept that we are all connected to a bigger universe, that we have to take care of.

The exhibition features work by Suzanne Plomp, Marcos Kueh & Ritvik Khushu, Simone Albers, and Fiona Lutjenhuis.
