Dispute settlement scheme
Last updated on 15 August 2026

The dispute settlement scheme for employees applies if there is no agreement with the manager on subjects such as:

  • a performance review
  • a change of position without the employee's permission
  • the refusal of a promotion to the functional scale
  • a study facility

A request can be submitted the dispute resolution committee through geschillenregelingpersoneel.bz@vu.nl. You can also email questions to this address.

The dispute resolution committee is an independent committee consisting of external experts. The members are appointed on the recommendation of the trade unions and VU Amsterdam.

In principle, a petition must be submitted within six weeks of the day on which you received the disputed decision.
