Marriage

You are entitled to one day of paid leave if you or your child is getting married or joining in civil partnership. After you have informed your manager, you can request this leave using the Special leave self-service option. This option can be found via the blue ‘Take action now’ button on this page. Select ‘Family circumstances’ under ‘Type of leave’. Your pension and holiday accrual will continue during this leave.

Bereavement

You are entitled to four days of paid leave in the event of the death of a partner, parent, stepparent, parent-in-law, child, stepchild, foster child, or child-in-law.

You are entitled to two days of paid leave in the event of the death of a second degree relative.

Discuss with your manager how much leave you need to take. After you have informed your manager, you can request this leave using the Special leave self-service option. This option can be found via the blue ‘Take action now’ button on this page. Select ‘Family circumstances’ under ‘Type of leave’. Your pension and holiday accrual will continue during this leave.

Bereavement leave

In the event that your partner or child dies, you are entitled to four weeks of paid leave. Discuss the extent, duration and other details of the leave with your manager. Request this leave using the Special leave self-service option. This option can be found via the blue ‘Take action now’ button on this page. Select ‘Family circumstances’ under ‘Type of leave’.
