On 1 July 2021, VU Amsterdam changed to a new personnel information system. In the ‘System Hire Date’ field in the ‘Employment Details’ section of this system, the date of commencement of VU Amsterdam employees who were appointed before 1 July 2021 is shown as 1 July 2021. This is an administrative date, as this is the date on which the new system entered into operation. The actual date of commencement for employees in this category is shown in the ‘VU/ACTA/PTHU Hire Date’ field below this. Use the blue ‘Take action now’ button on this page to view this field.
The actual date of commencement of employment of those who joined VU Amsterdam on or after 1 July 2021 is shown in the ‘System Hire Date’ field.
Your years of service are also used to calculate an employment anniversary bonus. An employee receives this bonus after 25, 40 or 50 years of service, subjected to the condition that these years were all accumulated at government institutions or other employers who are associated with the ABP pension fund.
