FCO Logistics aims to distribute gas cylinders safely and efficiently for faculties and departments of VU Amsterdam. FCO Logistics has trained employees for this purpose. Logistics is also responsible for the purchase of the gas cylinders and ensures temporary and safe storage.
Ordering
Order gas cylinders by sending an e-mail to Bestellinggasflessen.FCO.logistiek@vu.nl.
Please ALWAYS state the following details:
1. Name
2. Department
3. Telephone number
4. Building/room where gas cylinder is to be placed
5. Cost number
6. Type of gas, number of cylinders, purity and packaging form
Delivery times and days
Deliveries are made on Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the latest. If the gas ordered is in stock, delivery is normally made within 48 hours.
No deliveries are made on Fridays, so please keep an adequate stock of gas cylinders.
Exceptions
If the gas cylinders are not in stock, they will be ordered from the supplier as soon as possible after the customer's request. After about 3 days, the order will be delivered to the specified location.
If gases are not in stock at the supplier (such as mixing gases and special gas), delivery may take about 3 weeks.
The empty bottles are returned to the gas cylinder store and then disposed of to the gas cylinder supplier.
Please note: You are personally responsible for safety in the department when working with gases. The inspection date indicated on the gas cylinders must not be exceeded. It is therefore important not to leave too many older cylinders behind. Exchange gas cylinders regularly and return unused gas cylinders. Additional costs for disposing of gas cylinders past the inspection date will be charged to the department.
