On campus if we can. Online because we can.

The corona measures have a huge impact on higher education, but we are certain of one thing: if you start your degree programme in September, you can expect high-quality education from us. On campus if we can. But also: online because we can.

You are welcome
We are ready to welcome you as a new student at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Studying at VU Amsterdam is not only about education. It's also about meeting each other on campus and studying together for exams in the University Library. Although the corona crisis is turning everything upside down, one thing we know for sure: education at VU Amsterdam will continue.

Hybrid education at VU Amsterdam
During the corona crisis, you may expect high-quality education from VU Amsterdam that you can fully participate in.
Teaching will be offered in hybrid form: online and where it is possible and permitted, on campus. If education on campus is gradually getting started and you are not yet able or allowed to come to VU Amsterdam, alternative online opportunities are offered. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to offer an online alternative for location-based education, such as lab practice.
For each period we will provide you with as much clarity about how hybrid education will look like, based on developments in the international corona crisis. Hybrid education may differ per building, faculty and programme. Keep an eye on the information provided by your programme. Well before the start of the new academic year, your programme page on bachelors.vu.nl or masters.vu.nl will state what education will look like in period 1 (September/October). On campus if we can. Online because we can.

We hope to see you online or on campus as soon as we can!

Since face-to-face classes on our campus are cancelled up to 29 June, we have already switched our current teaching activities to online education until the end of the semester. Curious to see how our student Rodrigo is experiencing this? Have a look at the video below.
