Academisch Nederlands Plus
Number of sessions: 3 x 2,5 hours
Duration: self-study
This course is for students who have passed the Staatsexamen Nederlands, but still find it difficult to write a paper in Dutch. This course focuses on the essential characteristics of academic texts in Dutch, and on the Dutch language in general. Participants complete customized online self-study modules to practice their overall Dutch skills.   

Academic writing in Dutch
Number of sessions:

Duration: 5 - 7 weeks
The Academic writing in Dutch course consists of six lessons of two hours each. During the lessons you will learn all about the steps of the writing process, from the preparation phase to dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s. Each step involves new exercises. In between lessons, you will complete several writing assignments and receive feedback on these from the teacher.

Basic Dutch on Campus
Number of sessions: 5 hours a week  
Duration: 8 weeks
If you’re studying through English but want to learn enough Dutch to feel more at home on campus, ‘Basic Dutch on Campus' is the course for you. The course teaches you about Dutch student culture, and you learn enough Dutch to introduce yourself, do your shopping, order a meal, or chat with your fellow students and teachers.

Writing a master’s thesis can sometimes be heavy going – but this may not be a matter of content, but of how you manage the writing process. Maybe you might benefit from a one-off coaching session, or a series of up to five coaching sessions?

Dutch course for the NT2 State Exam II (Intensive)

Duration: 9 weeks
On the daytime group course Dutch for the NT2 State Exam II, you will learn Dutch up to B2 level in one calendar year. This means you will be able to understand difficult texts, write your own texts on a variety of topics, speak Dutch fluently and correctly, express your opinion and participate in discussions. 

Dutch for work and study
Number of sessions: 16 x 2,5 hours
Duration: 8 weeks
The evening course "Nederlands voor Werk en Studie" helps you improve your command of Dutch, raising it from beginner’s level to CEFR B2. You are free to choose how many courses to take and what level you ultimately want to achieve.

Dutch for work and study sprint
Number of sessions: 16 x 2,5 hours
Duration: 8 weeks
Native speakers of German, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, or Afrikaans can take the accelerated programme of the evening course "Nederlands voor Werk en Studie" (Dutch for Work and Study). This 8-week course allows you to improve your level in Dutch from beginner’s level to CEFR level A2, or from A2 to B1.

Dutch Spelling and Grammar Refresher Course
Number of sessions: 2 x 3 hours
Duration: 2- 4 weeks
During these sessions, you will refresh your knowledge of Dutch spelling and grammar, putting it into practise by tackling a range of relevant exercises. We cover a wide range of topics, from verb endings (d’s and t’s) to the correct use of prepositions.

Everyday Dutch Course on Saturday
Number of sessions: 8 x 2,5 hours
Duration: 8 weeks
A practical, semi-intensive language course focusing on Dutch for everyday situations. Within 4 months you learn the basics of Dutch (CEFR level A2). ‘Everyday Dutch’ is an e-learning course: you only have one lesson per week, and practise a lot at home and online.

The editing service is available for master's students and PhD candidates who want help to improve the English or Dutch in their thesis or dissertation. The editing service provides feedback on the accuracy, clarity, and style of your writing in English or Dutch.

Lastige kwesties in het Nederlands  
Number of sessions: 3,5 hours 
Duration: 1 day 
In this compact and intensive workshop we discuss the most complex issues in sentence construction and idiom in Dutch. You decide for yourself what these issues will be: participants can identify their own stumbling blocks before the workshop and submit requests.

Op weg naar een samenhangende tekst  
Number of sessions: 3,5 hours
Duration: 1 day  
Every text, including an essay or master’s thesis, needs a central argument, or common thread. If this is weak or absent, your text will not be coherent, and your reader will get lost. This workshop provides useful tips on how to write coherent texts. 

Understanding Dutch in participation councils
Number of sessions:
10 times 1 hour, plus self-study
Duration: 26 weeks
If you play an active role in employee participation, it’s important to be able to follow the discussion in Dutch and understand the associated written documents. The course ‘Understanding Dutch for Employee Participation’ helps you develop the skills you need. Participants receive individual coaching from an experienced teacher every two weeks for six months. In addition, you receive personal feedback on your assignments in the customised self-study modules. Level: B1 upwards.

In this workshop we go in search of solutions for writers who often find themselves getting stuck. We explore ways to overcome writer’s block and become a more effective writer.

Professional Dutch
Number of sessions: 16 x 2,5 hours
Duration: 16 weeks, 1 class a weeks
If your command of Dutch is already pretty good, this course will help you to take your academic writing and presenting skills to a higher level. The course focuses on advanced writing skills such as writing formal letters, essays, and other assignments. You also develop your presenting skills in Dutch.

Schrijven in een academische stijl

This workshop explores the finer points of 'academic Dutch'. We highlight a number of characteristics of academic style in Dutch and briefly discuss their function. This will help you avoid a style that your thesis supervisor rejects as too informal or subjective.

Academic English: Speaking & Writing

Duration: 6 - 8 weeks
This Academic English course focuses on improving students’ speaking and writing skills in an academic context. After this course you will be able to write clear academic texts, engage in informal and tutorial discussion, and tackle that English degree program with much more ease and confidence.

In academic texts, it is important to maintain a formal and objective style of writing. But how do you do that in English? During this workshop we will work on adopting a formal tone and an academic style when writing in English.

In this TOEFL ITP Preparation Course you will improve your abilities in English and get ready to take the TOEFL ITP test. The focus of the course is on the test itself. 

Top ten grammar and language issues  
Number of sessions: 3,5 hours
Duration: 1 day
This workshop deals with the ten most common errors in English texts written by native speakers of Dutch. During the workshop we explain what these common mistakes are and how to avoid them. You then put these insights into practice in assignments.
