VU Amsterdam participates in a number of research schools that have been earmarked as ‘top research schools’ within the Dutch government’s vertical strategy:

• ISES - Netherlands Research Centre for Integrated Solid Earth Sciences (NSG, VMSG, CTG)
• NRSC-Catalysis - Catalysis Controlled by Chemical design (NIOK, Polymeren-PTN, HRSMC)
