Graduation statement
Request graduation statement
Last updated on 24 July 2026

A graduation statement is proof of your graduation. For example, if you lose your diploma or are still awaiting your graduation ceremony.

A graduation statement does not equal a diploma. Did you lose your diploma? Have you graduated but are still waiting for your graduation ceremony? In these cases, your graduation statement provides evidence of your graduation.

When should you apply?

Apply for a graduation statement after DUO receives your graduation date from Student Administration. You will be notified by email. You can also check the progress in Studielink. Once DUO gets your information, a graduation ceremony date will be available in ‘My educational background.’

Download an extract of your diploma

Download an electronic extract of your diploma in the digital register Mijn diploma's from DUO. This register contains diploma information on all Dutch degree programmes accredited by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. A download will be possible as soon as DUO receives your graduation date. An electronic diploma extract has the same value as a certified copy of your diploma. An electronic diploma extract is free of charge and easy to download.

The certificate states your name, date and place of birth, degree programme and official graduation date.

Request a graduation statement

Students who do not have access to Mijn diploma's can request a graduation statement via the blue button at the top of this page. Check for a confirmation e-mail after submitting your request. If you didn’t receive a confirmation e-mail, your application (most probably) was not sent.
