As a member of the University Student Council (USR), you have the right to consent and advise on VU policies at the central level. To become a member of the USR, you must stand for election during the Student Council elections.
As a member of a Faculty Student Council (FSR), you have the right to consent and advise on faculty policies. To become a member of the FSR, you must stand for election in the Student Council elections.
As a member of the Programme Committee (OLC), you help advise and decide on the specific details of your study programme. Every study programme at VU Amsterdam has an Education Committee (OLC) consisting of both lecturers and students. To join the OLC, contact the secretariat of your faculty.
Every faculty board has a student-assessor. This is a student who advises the faculty board on faculty policy, both solicited and unsolicited. Would you like to get in touch with your student-assessor? Or would you also like to become a student-assessor? Then contact your faculty secretariat.
Every participation body holds Open Meetings (OV). At these meetings, as a student, you can raise issues that you think the council should address. The council may then bring the issue to the Executive Board (CvB) or faculty board on your behalf.
SRVU is the student union of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and is committed to promoting the interests of all students. Besides having regular contact with various stakeholders within VU Amsterdam, SRVU also offers legal aid.
Within SRVU, you can become active both as a board member and as a committee member.
