Workshop on writing grant proposals

For whom?
This two-part workshop is for researchers with up to 3 years experience after obtaining their PhD who plan to write an application for an NWO Veni grant. It is explicitly not for grant consultants or support staff.

Objectives of the workshop
Grant proposals can be seen as a quotation, it gives your intended solution to an existing problem in science and society . It is therefore necessary to focus on the essence of the problem and the concrete deliverables at the end of the project. Saying more while saying or writing less is crucial for successful grant applications. This workshop aims to increase the chances of your proposal being successful.

Set-up
This workshop has a two day setup, the first and second day are scheduled a few weeks apart. The workshop uses several writing exercises which will be completed individually or in small groups. To prepare for the workshop active participation of all candidates is required, including reading and commenting on work of your fellow participants.

During the first part of this workshop you will learn to write a structured, concise and clear proposal conveying your enthusiasm, with special attention for your abstract.
