Theme of this Opening of the Academic Year is ‘Would you like to play together?' Just imagine we can bring the open-mindedness, wonder and creativity we felt as children into our adult lives. How might forces such as courage, curiosity, intuition and perhaps even a touch of boldness enrich our professional and academic lives?
We will play, lead and change the game with speakers such as Ben Tiggelaar, Aukje Nauta, Marilieke Engbers, Constantijn van Oranje and current and former student council presidents Asmaa Elhassan, Joep van Dijk, Marc Lemain, Païvi Reckman and Kata Rakiv, together with discussion leader (and for this occasion also game leader) Andrew Makkinga. Mirjam van Praag will look back one last time as President - and look ahead to what is to come. Mayor of Amsterdam Femke Halsema will give a speech.
Following this afternoon, feel very welcome to join our informal afterparty with drinks and bites in the foyer. Here you will have the opportunity to continue the conversation with other participants, and say goodbye to Mirjam van Praag as President of the Executive Board.
