Have you come across behaviour that worries you? For example: threats, stalking or doxxing, radicalisation, confused or hard-to-understand behaviour, or signs of suicidality? Are you concerned that a colleague may pose a risk to others or to themselves? Or are you worried about an unsafe home situation due to domestic or so-called honour-based violence?
In that case, it is always important to seek help and not carry it alone. In these situations you can turn to the coordinator safety and behaviour, also if you suspect that someone else is in an unsafe situation, or may need support. The case holder can discuss the situation with you, help explore possible solutions, and if necessary - take action to restore safety.
The coordinator safety and behaviour can:
- carry out a risk assessment to determine how serious the situation is;
- advise you on the best way to handle it;
- take action to restore safety and/or take the lead in managing the situation;
- offer support or refer you to the right contacts within VU, or to external organisations (such as the police, Blijf Groep, the Sexual Assault Centre, etc.).

Send an e-mail to veiligheid-gedrag@vu.nl. We will then get in touch to arrange an appointment. During the meeting, you can explain what is going on, and together we will discuss what an appropriate course of action would be and how we can support you.
