Almost all students who complete their Literature and Society degree programme go on to pursue a master's degree at VU Amsterdam, another Dutch university, or choose to study for a master's degree abroad.
The Master's programme in Literature is the most popular choice for this track, but you can also opt for a Master's in Linguistics or the two-year Master's in Education, which will qualify you to teach. You can also choose a research Master's if you aspire to a PhD position. In short: there are plenty of options.
Once you have completed your Bachelor's and Master's programmes in Literature:
- you will be able to write (creatively) yourself
- you will have a critical eye and critical thinking skills
- you will be able to convert large amounts of complex information into well-structured and clear communication
- you will be able to work at universities of applied sciences, the government, publishing houses, media agencies and many other places
