Payment of tuition fees: bank transfer

You can pay your tuition fees by transferring the entire amount in one go.

Select ‘Other method of payment’ in Studielink. It is not possible to pay in instalments.

Payment deadlines

  • For study programmes with a starting date of 1 February, the payment must be received by us no later than 31 January.
  • For numerus fixus study programmes, the payment must be received by us no later than 15 July.
  • For other Bachelor's programmes with VU Study Choice Check and Master's programmes with a starting date of 1 September, the payment must be received by us no later than 31 August.
  • Keep in mind that it can take several working days before your payment is processed.

Transfer from a Dutch bank account

The entire tuition fee amount can be transferred to:

Remember to quote "S + your student number" (e.g. S1234567). VU Amsterdam does not send invoices; the amount of tuition fees to be paid is stated in the letter of requisition sent by email to students once the amount has been (re)calculated.

Transfer from a foreign bank account

The entire tuition fee amount can be transferred to:

Remember to quote "S + your student number" (e.g. S1234567). Additional transaction costs may be charged when paying from a foreign bank account. These costs are charged entirely to the student.

Someone else is paying

Has someone else paid the tuition fees for you by bank transfer? If so, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam is legally required to obtain your permission for this transaction. Fill out and sign the consent form and submit it to studentdesk@vu.nl, stating your student number.
