Digital Sustainability Dojo: Integrate, Measure, and Monitor
Our Digital Sustainability Dojo equips professionals with the skills to integrate sustainability into the design of digital solutions and software-intensive systems.

The course is provided as four modules (4 half days), each focusing on:

  1. Introduction to digital sustainability, relevance for your organisations, hands-on application;
  2. The SAF Toolkit, digital sustainability design and translation into a quality model; hands-on application;
  3. The SAF Toolkit for KPI design; hands-on application;
  4. Feedback on application and discussion for future steps in various sectors.

Interested in the incompany possibilities? 

Prof. Dr. Patricia Lago

Prof. Dr. Patricia Lago is a Professor of Software Engineering at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where she established the Software and Sustainability (S2) research group and the VU Digital Sustainability Centre. Her research focuses on software architecture, quality assessment, and sustainability. She received an Honorary Doctorate from NTNU, Norway, and the 2023 IEEE CS TCSE New Directions Award. She holds a PhD from Politecnico di Torino and a Master’s degree from the University of Pisa. She is a senior member of ACM, IEEE, VERSEN, and DANW, and has delivered numerous tutorials, courses, and talks to various organisations and IT professionals.

Iffat Fatima

Iffat Fatima is a PhD candidate with the Software and Sustainability group (S2) at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Her research interests lie at the intersection of software architecture and sustainability. She holds a master's degree in Software Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology in Pakistan.

Markus Funke

Markus Funke is a PhD candidate with the Software and Sustainability group (S2) at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His research interests include software architecture, architecture knowledge, and software sustainability, with particular interest in the connection to professional practice and the industry. He received his joint Master's degree in Computer Science from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and the University of Amsterdam. He is a researcher at the VU Digital Sustainability Center (DiSC) and its Sustainable IT Lab.
