    Techlab: https: //vu.nl/nl/onderzoek/meer-over/techlab

TechLab is a line of research established in 2020 by the IT Audit, Compliance and Advisory (ITACA) program of the School of Business and Economics at the Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam and encompasses multiple themes. This academic base focuses broadly on the impact of technology and related topics on the audit profession, and studies these topics with its own staff or in collaboration with students and market participants. TechLab publications and meetings provide deeper insights and useful recommendations aimed at better equipping auditors to audit technology solutions or use them in audit activities. Efforts are made to effectively identify risks that may have been overlooked in the past, thereby making a modest contribution to more successful audit teams. A higher quality audit can be achieved in this way, creating value for all stakeholders.

    Feedback and Contact

Ideas and suggestions to improve what TechLab represents and seeks to achieve are most welcome. This input can be sent to the following email address: edp.sbe@vu.nl.

    Audit Technology Hub

Understanding fast-paced digital developments and adopting advanced tech-enabled solutions have currently turned into a standard approach. Fearless embracement of technology has stretched the border of what is possible today, which also excites many on what may be made possible tomorrow, what is yet to come. The wave of tech-driven change is no longer an option to choose, but a necessity for all to remain relevant. ITACA's Audit Technology Hub is therefore centered around some pertinent tech-heavy topics that are significantly impacting the audit profession. It is designed with the following focal points where experts, research, and resources are brought and linked together:

    • Artificial Intelligence (AI).
    • Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).
    • Cyber Security (CS).

To inspire and inform, our Audit Technology Hub is committed to shed light on the aforementioned topics and provide the profession with insightful sources, expert opinions and pragmatic knowledge. These outcomes can be applied in practice to help auditors go through the tech-led change required by stakeholders.
