This year, no fewer than 18 VU Amsterdam lecturers have been awarded a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) grant. With this grant, they receive funding and guidance to systematically investigate their own teaching practice and improve education in an evidence-informed way.
“The growing number of applications shows that more and more colleagues want to strengthen their teaching based on research,” says educational researcher Jan Willem Grijpma. The teachers are supported by Maiza Campos Ponce, Jan Willem Grijpma, Geert Schenk and other educational researchers from the VU Centre for Teaching & Learning (CTL). During the kick-off on 19 January, the teachers and their projects were put in the spotlight, with a focus on learning together and building a strong SoTL community.
