Many young people grow up between different life worlds. For example, between ethnic cultures, between school and streetlife, or between the lhbtqia+ community and social contexts where queerness is not accepted or not the norm.
This research is part of the Co-Creation for Inclusive Knowledges Lab
This projects brings together young people, researchers and youth professionals to better understand the experience of ‘in-betwenness’ and its position and importance in society. Together we make a digital library of narratives articulating experiences of in-betweenness (‘Bibliotheek van tussenverhalen’). We conduct a participative qualitative study of young people's experiences in in-between positions, and we co-create a masterclass taught by young people to youth professionals. This project is a collaboration between the VU, Hogeschool van Amsterdam, Hogeschool InHolland, Stichting Sitara, Criminal Minded, and Sociaal Cement
