Digital technologies connect us and bring information closer. They give us a sense of freedom and independence. At VU Amsterdam, researchers are involved in many important digital developments. At the same time, there are concerns about the limits of digitisation. What role do governments and tech giants play? Are algorithms a curse or a blessing? How can people and digitisation find a healthy balance? Our research constantly sheds new light on the many facets of digitisation.
