The pre-master's programme provides you with the knowledge and skills that fully prepares you for the MA Archaeology. The pre-master's is a joint programme offered by VU Amsterdam and the University of Amsterdam (UvA). Below you will find the provisional programme giving you an impression of the courses you will be following. On the basis of an assessment of your prior education, however, the admissions committee may require you to take an adapted programme.
If you successfully complete the pre-master’s programme within a year, you will automatically be admitted to the Master’s Archaeology. You must complete the programme within one year, as you cannot start the Master's without fully meeting the entry requirements. After completing the pre-master's programme you will not receive a diploma or certificate.
